Have you ever thought of how paper is recycled? Initially, all paper products are collected and separated into different types and grades. Then, they are tied into bales and sent to the paper recycling plant.

At the paper recycling plant, the papers are washed with soapy water. This process is to get rid of unwanted materials such as glue and ink from the papers. Staples are also removed.

The clean papers are then mixed with water in a huge blender. This mixture of paper pulp together with water is called ‘slurry’. Later, the slurry is mixed with new wood pulp to help produce stronger papers. They are then pressed into sheets and dried thoroughly.
Finally, they are rolled, cut and made ready to use again as papers.
